Entrepreneurship???? What are YOU doing??

Currently, AIESEC Adelaide University is running a PBoX (Project Based on Exchange) named AIESEC Building Better Business. A PBoX essentially uses our core work of exchange to address a certain issue affecting our local community. In Adelaide, we recognise Entrepreneurship to be that issue. AIESEC believes that the economic progress of South Australia depends on the strengths and vitality of its Entrepreneurs.

Based around the theme of ‘Entrepreneurship’, AIESEC Building Better Business aims to facilitate a series of eye-opening internship placements from 6 to 12 months within expanding South Australian businesses. So for example, when a company takes on an intern, the trainee can research the target market (home country), make a list of potential clients, set up meetings with them, introduce the product etc. There are various other job roles the trainee could perform as per the need of the company.

Throughout the duration of these internships, Building Better Business will also facilitate various workshops for the companies, trainees and university students on topics related to entrepreneurship, expansion and other issues relevant to businesses in South Australia.

The project aims to help South Australian Businesses extend their business borders by expanding into new international markets or penetrating into their existing international markets.

OGX - Lee:

The newly-established Out-Going eXchange team at AIESEC Adelaide University has a achieved a lot in a short, but intense, period of time. We currently have students having life-changing experiences in Kenya, Malaysia, The Netherlands and Finland, with more going out soon! We are always scoping the scene for opportunities for our members and are excited by AIESEC's passion for making a difference.

OCC - Julia:

OCC is currently experiencing many newsworthy and exciting developments. After our successful semester 2 recruitment, our LC is growing and evolving, with a diverse medley of vibrant, high potential new recruits joining our organisation.

Furthermore, our various tasks within OCC are advancing with momentum. University sponsorship, endorsement and partnership and SN and TN raising is high on the OCC agenda, and advancing through liaison with the Pro-Vice Chancellor. In collaboration with James from ICX, Robbie will present a consolidated proposal to the head of International Studies with the intention of gaining support and inviting the department to accredit AIESEC development exchanges for the B. Int. Studies.

On the media front, we are currently targeting several on and off campus media publications to increase publicity. To further this we are also in the process of developing a video production on our local committee for promotional purposes.

ICX - Sophie:

Over the recent months the incoming exchange team have been busy developing and running an induction program for new members. An ICX training handbook has been developed to assist new members in furthering their understanding of AIESEC as well as ICX. Through this and our information sessions, exisiting members have also been able to develop their knowledge of ICX.

Market segmentation was conducted to determine the most appropriate sectors and organisations within these for AIESEC to form partnerships with. The main ares that have been contacted are state government, local government and non-profit organisations. The agenda for these contacts has been discussion of the global internship program and opportunities for sponsorship.

The ICX team has also been responsible for the assessment and support of the Australian Refugee Association, who is hosting our intern Nicole Fasel from Switzerland.
