Life Impact @ Adelaide
Another excerpt from the upcoming newsletter about the recognition of the achievements of our former ICX director, Chloe, who is currently on exchange in Kenya:Chloe Reschke-Maguire, a member of AIESEC Adelaide University, has just received AIESEC Australia’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year award, presented at AIESEC’s July National Conference 2006.
Entrepreneur of the year was a new award that was designed to bring recognition to an individual’s contribution of an outstanding calibre. It was applicable to any AIESEC member who has demonstrated consistency of brand promotion whilst consistently raising awareness about AIESEC to the external community. The criterion for this award was:
· Ability to demonstrate innovation around core elements of the brand
· Ability to increase AIESEC presence and convert into tangible results
Chloe was the AIESEC Adelaide University Incoming Exchange Director for December – July 2006 and has now embarked on her own international experience in Kenya, where she will be working on a HIV/AIDS program.
One of Chloe’s outstanding achievements was the planning and current implementation of a Project Based on Exchange at Adelaide University. This project, titled “Building Better Business” aims to extend South Australia’s internal business borders by implementing and establishing effective business practices and international relationships between South Australian small-medium enterprises (SME) and the global business environment. In other words, this project connects youth from our global network to act as international consultants, combining their youth perspective, leadership skills and culturally minded attitude to foster a culture of entrepreneurship within South Australia SME’s.
The implementation of such projects demonstrates AIESEC’s innovative ability to assist in the operation of the SA Strategic Plan. This project and its capability to combine social issues, government initiatives and global and national AIESEC strategies is a real testament to Chloe’s innovation, passion and knowledge of AIESEC.
